Deep sleep XII
Tuesday, August 6, 2013
I did this some time ago, can't remember the exact time but i can remember the setting it was done in.
I was at home, and i was laying on my bad, something like a scene from "The Fly". Picked up the sketchbook and a pen and before i knew it and idea was talking shape and thoughts were growing like fungi. Somewhere amongst those thoughts there were some feelings of inner harmony, letting go & and new points of view, i remembered that there was a tarot card that carried some of this meanings.
I worked on it late into the night, falling asleep in the process, when i woke up i finished it and that's how it ended up with this name.
The feeling of sacrifice for someone or for the many somehow ended up as the main idea.

It still fascinates me how this came as an unconscious reaction to what reality was giving me back then. Sure, there are some ways to escape reality, at least for a brief moment, but sometimes solutions to your problems are just out of your reach.
This illustration was like advice before I needed it, only that I was to blind to see, even in my own work.
